New York Port Authority Bus Terminal Guide

Peter Pan offers frequent daily service from many locations to New York City. All our services depart and arrive at the New York Port Authority Bus Terminal on 42nd Street, between 6 & 8th Avenue in Manhattan.

Port Authority Terminal consists of two separate buildings:

  • The North Terminal 8th Avenue & 42nd Street
  • The South Terminal – 8th Avenue & 40th Street

All Peter Pan and Greyhound buses arrive and depart from the North Terminal

All Peter Pan Bonanza buses arrive and depart from the South Terminal

 

If you are traveling to/from New York City, here are some travel tips:

 

Ticketing:

Tickets for Peter Pan services can be purchased at either the Greyhound/Trailways ticket counter (in the North and South Wing) or from the Adirondack/New York Trailways ticket counter (in the South Wing).

Peter Pan E-Tickets can be printed at the following location within the Port Authority:

-Greyhound Bus Lines ticket counter (in the North Wing- subway level). The re-print station is near the kiosks - there is no charge for re-print from this location.

You confirmation number, the passenger last name and the zip code used when purchasing the order is required for re-printing the ticket.

Please also note, e-tickets are not able to be printed once the travel time (on the ticket) has passed.

 

Area airport services:

New York Airport Service” provides bus connections from the New York Port Authority to local New York City airports.

 

Train Connections:

The NY Port Authority Bus Terminal is approximately ten (10) blocks from Penn Station and approximately seven (7) blocks from Grand Central Station. While Peter Pan does not provide service to or from either train terminals, taxi service to these locations is widely available at the NY Port Authority.

 

Gate Information:

It is advised to double check with the Information Booth as to the current gate assignments, as gates are subject to change.

 

The North Terminal

Departure Gates:

  • Gate # 63 Baltimore Express
  • Gate # 64 Washington, DC, New Carrollton Express
  • Gate # 66 Philadelphia Express
  • Gate # 68 Philadelphia, PA via Mt. Laurel & Camden, NJ
  • Gate # 70 Baltimore via Silver Springs Express
  • Gate # 75 Washington, DC via Baltimore
  • Gate # 82 Hartford/Springfield Express
  • Gate # 83 Hartford, CT/Springfield MA local service via New Britain/New Haven
  • Gate # 84 Boston Express

 

The South Terminal

Peter Pan Bonanza services

Arrival and Departure Gates:

  • Gate # 13 Williamstown, MA via CT- Danbury, Southbury, Waterbury, Torrington, Winsted, Canaan,  MA –Sheffield, Great Barrington, Stockbridge, Lee, Lenox, Pittsfield
  • Gate # 15 Hartford, CT via Danbury, Southbury, Waterbury, Farmington and Storrs UConn
  • Gate # 17 Providence, RI and Cape Cod

 

 

Wheelchair Assistance Once In the Terminal

The NY Port Authority Bus Terminal provides a free wheelchair escort service for travelers who may have difficulty navigating their way through the facility. Simply dial “54” on any in-house telephone to request an escort.

Cruise passengers:

The New York Port Authority (42nd St. and 8th Avenue) is approximately 1.5 miles from the Cruise Terminal on 711 12th Avenue. Taxi's are available from the Port Authority to the cruise terminal. Travel time between the cruise and bus terminal can vary - travelers should allow ample travel time. More information on the NY Cruise terminal can be found here.
